Custom putters. But like, really really ridiculously custom.

Spent most of the day engraving these buildings on Spent most of the day engraving these buildings on the bottom of a putter. The old state house is in the middle, since that was across the street from the place my client started their company. Then the skyscrapers in the back are made to look like Lego, since they play with them a lot at the company. Some of my most detailed work yet!

Tyler at @fadeandfairway reached out and said he w Tyler at @fadeandfairway reached out and said he wanted a @pdxairport carpet putter made from an old bag tag. We talked about the journeys he’s taken from that place, and shared memories of the excitement and joy that is encapsulated in that special carpet design. As with every putter, we focused on the conversations that would be had on the course before diving into the nuts and bolts, and used those ideas to direct the design plan.

I loved the idea, so we got the project on the books. I unstitched the carpet from the leather pouch and laser cut it to fit on top of my Luna shape. Then I did a slow, deep engraving on the top wood, glued the carpet in place, and set it in clear acrylic. I wanted to have a thin strip of maple wood as a border so that the top wasn’t just straight carpet. We went with maple from Oregon to fit the theme. Then I added the internal weights, shaped it down, and engraved a “Made in Oregon” sign on the bottom that closely resembles a big one in Portland.

It can take years for someone to finally decide on the design for their own Bradley Putter. These are rarely impulse buys, but rather require a deep introspection into what truly matters in life. My putters tell a story every time they’re played on the course. What story do you want to tell?
One of my friends wanted to gift his golf coach so One of my friends wanted to gift his golf coach something special. The coach loves his Korean culture, so I first thought about making a 3d printed temple and village under acrylic. But the design was going to be so small that a lot of the detail would be lost. So rather than doing a 1000 ft view, I went for a 1 ft view. The top design mimics the traditional Korean window, with authentic Korean paper under a wood lattice. Then for the bottom, I went with the dancheong artwork that is painted on the outside of Korean temples. I love the simplicity and “puttability” of the top, juxtaposed with the complexity and brightness of the bottom. Might be one of my favorite designs of all time.
When I heard that Reddit r/golf wasn’t doing a s When I heard that Reddit r/golf wasn’t doing a secret Santa this year, I was pretty bummed. I loved getting to surprise unsuspecting people with a wild custom putter, but the admins just couldn’t make it happen. So I was watching the posts for someone worthy, and u/inaaace definitely fit the bill. Prolific poster, everyone loves him, and we’ve all been following his journey through his cancer diagnosis.

I wanted to make a putter that had nothing to do with the cancer, but focused on his life and family. He’s a super smart dude studying for his Ph.D and loves everything space/gravity/relativity, so we settled on a James Webb Space Telescope theme. I used the gold reflector array as the alignment line, and then matched the first deep field image for an engraving on the bottom. I added the Air Canada logo on the face, since he met his wife when she was a stewardess there. And on the toe, I put his two kids’ names.

He’s the nicest, most humble man, and deserves all of the love coming his way. I’m thankful to be a small part of that blessing, and hope to see him playing with this putter for years and years to come. We’re all rooting for you, u/inaaace!
My client sent me a picture their husband took of My client sent me a picture their husband took of an Aurora, and I engraved it on the bottom of his putter. It was tricky getting all of the dark colors to show enough detail, but I accentuated the green elements to really make it pop. The alignment on top is a Pikorua, which symbolizes a strong bond between two loved ones.

Everyone knows that person who is impossible to buy for. When you’re wanting to get them something they’ll cherish for years to come, work with me on designing a custom putter. Don’t feel like you need to come with an exact idea of what you want. We will chat for a half hour on the phone about designs that will tell their story and match the recipients style, and then you’ll follow along every step of the way with picture updates, fully in control of the final product. I can’t wait to work with you on something special!
My client’s husband is notoriously tough to buy My client’s husband is notoriously tough to buy for. He’s an amazing gift giver, and had already gotten his wife one of my putters a few years ago. So when she reached out, I knew we’d have to do something special. He loves his Rolls Royce, which is white with orange trim, so we ran with that idea. The roof has a starlight effect to it, so I engraved stars on the top of black wood, and made the alignment lines look like shooting stars. Then I 3d printed the Spirit of Ecstasy for the center to look like the hood ornament and painted it rose gold. I ended up having to do this a few times to get the proportions right so that I could still hide enough weights inside for the performance. All that got covered with clear acrylic, and then I engraved the RR on the bottom, added a white shaft, and finished it off with the orange gator grip. And the best part is that he loved it!
I worked with a brother and sister on this putter I worked with a brother and sister on this putter for their dad. They wanted a sunset view of a lighthouse near them, with their mom and dad walking with their grandkids silhouetted on the beach. I composited several different pictures to get the layout right, and then used UV resin to create the actual artwork. I laser out each area, then fill it with a liquid color that cures under uv light once I get everything just right. It’s not the fastest process in the world, but it sure does turn out beautifully.
I started this company 6 years ago today. It’s g I started this company 6 years ago today. It’s gone through some amazing highs, some painful lows, and everything in between. I’m so thankful for my family that has walked beside me every step of the way, my friends who have supported this journey, and all the people who have given me the chance to make them something special. I’ve gone from just me in my garage, to employing several people in a downtown shop, and now I’m back to just me in a shop (I’m still downtown, but the front shop is fully private/appt only now). I’ve made putters for celebrities, students, billionaires and budgeters. I’ve played golf with wonderful people all over the world. And I’m so thankful for everything. I’m excited what the next year will bring, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you!
Last chance to get a Bradley Putter under your tre Last chance to get a Bradley Putter under your tree for Christmas! These heads are ready for an engraving, your choice of shaft and grip, and come with a headcover. Only way to get these is to shoot me a message or send an email to brad@bradleyputters.com. If you miss out on these, your only option is a full custom, and there’s no guarantee that will be done by Christmas!
My client for this project wanted to incorporate h My client for this project wanted to incorporate his hometown of Atlanta into his putter. So I took a view from piedmont park, and then added the 96 Olympic flame to the foreground, and placed a cardinal bird resting on it to symbolize his mother. On the back I included a nod to the Braves World Series win, and used the arch from UGA as the alignment. For the bottom engraving, I separate each color into a different layer and cut them 1mm deep. Then I pour UV resin in and swirl it together to get reflections in the water and vibrant colors in the sky.

I’ve only got a few more Christmas putters to finish, and am ready to take your putter orders for 2023! Hop on my website to learn more about how the process works and get on my schedule.
I love when clients come to me with challenging pr I love when clients come to me with challenging projects. For this one, I had to 3d print the plane, hand paint it, engrave and build up a topographical treasure map, and add blue wisps to the sky. It took a couple months to get everything right, but I’m stoked with the final product!

I’m working on wrapping up Christmas orders now. There’s no time to get a guaranteed custom putter, but I do offer gift certificates, which makes for an epic present. The recipient will work with me as I design them their perfect putter, working in every detail to make it epic.
When I’ve only got 12 minutes to get everything When I’ve only got 12 minutes to get everything perfect, there’s definitely some pressure! First I have to mix the alumilite clear slow resin, and then I add pigments until I get the right color. That goes in a vacuum chamber to remove all the air bubbles. Then I pour that onto the warmed wood, and it goes back in the vacuum chamber to pull the acrylic into every nook and cranny. Finally, I pull the piece out, torch the top, add some swirls with a stir stick, and it goes under 70psi to crush any bubbles that are present or may form during the cure process. 2 hours later, it will be ready for the oven and a post cure!
Christmas orders! You’ve got a week or two left Christmas orders! You’ve got a week or two left to get the golfer in your life an epic gift that they will cherish for a lifetime. My lead time right now is just about a month, and really complicated projects can take longer than that. Maybe it’s for your dad who just retired and plays every day, and you want something that tells the story of his family and hobbies. Or if you’ve got a sales person who killed it this year, they deserve something special for all those business rounds they’re playing. Or maybe your spouse has taken up golf in the last year, and a custom putter that tells the story of your relationship would be the best gift ever.

Don’t feel like you need to have the whole putter plan before reaching out! I spend a half hour with each client talking about the stories you want to tell, the style of the recipient, and the design elements that could pull it all together. You just need to know that you want a putter, a little about the person, and I’ll walk you through the rest.

Pour a new block with me! At this stage, the wood Pour a new block with me! At this stage, the wood is stabilized and I’ve already stuck a hornet fly fishing lure in the right spot for the design. I warm the wood and mold in a toaster oven to remove any surface moisture, and then mix the resin A and B parts 1:1 by weight. I then add enough dye drops to give it a slight blue water tint without going overboard, and then place that in the vacuum chamber to remove all the air bubbles. Then I pour it onto the wood and do another vacuum pull to really infuse the acrylic into the wood. And finally I take a torch to remove the bubbles on top, before going straight into the pressure chamber at 70 psi. And all this has to happen within 12 minutes to ensure a perfect glass transparency. #resinart #functionalart #customputters #golf #woodworking #artisan #craftsmanship
My client for this project wanted a view of the Bl My client for this project wanted a view of the Blue Mountains, with a silhouette of his Pops on his horse in the foreground. So I composited the layers and engraved the sections. Then I pour UV resin into the area. I’m constantly watching the glare of the overhead lights to make sure that the final height is perfectly flat. I warm the resin with a heat gun to get it to flow into every crevice, and use a stick to push the liquid up against the sides. I’ll blend multiple colors together until it’s just the right shade and swirl, and then do 3 quick flashes of a UV light to gently cure the top skin. If I go too fast, the surface will make micro bubbles that will mess up the final gloss process. Then I do a full 10 minute cure under a UV lamp to harden it all the way through, before lining it back up in the laser for another engraving. This took me around 4 hours to finish!
Once I’ve got the weights installed, I shape the Once I’ve got the weights installed, I shape the head down by hand. This allows me to check the head weight as I go, and make sure I’m not going too far through the acrylic. It’s like a 4-axis milling operation, except I’m getting to know every nook and cranny of the piece and it’s being made with love every step of the way. Art doesn’t need to be rushed. Gotta take time to enjoy the process.
A lot of people don’t realize that there are wei A lot of people don’t realize that there are weights inside every single putter. I split each piece of wood apart, use a template to locate the holes, and do some math to determine exactly how much lead needs to go in the head to make it feel and perform as beautifully as it looks. Each step is done by my own two hands, and just adding the weights takes almost an hour to finish perfectly. But by doing these steps carefully, the rest of the putter just falls into shape!

Multi colored engravings can take alllll day. Each Multi colored engravings can take alllll day. Each color has to be separated into a different layer in my software, and then individually engraved onto the wood. Then I pour the UV resin into the holes, cure it, and put it back into the laser at exactly the right spot to cut out the next color area. But it sure is satisfying watching several hours worth of work happen in a minute! #fyp #artisan #resinart #functionalart #custompaint #customputters
